Redmi 13C to Launch Next Month in India with Helio G85

Xiaomi recently introduced the Redmi 13C and according to a new report, will bring the device to India in the next month. The new device will serve as a long-awaited successor to the Redmi 12C and will fit in the budget segment. The Redmi 13C is currently available across global markets and will reach the Indian market with the exact same specifications. So there won’t be surprises for the Indian consumers, and the device would sit between the Redmi A2 and the Redmi numbered series as its predecessor the Redmi 12C.

Redmi 13C Coming to India – Key Specifications and Features

The Redmi 13C boasts a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. That’s a fairly large display with a decent refresh rate and acceptable resolution. Interestingly, that size is bigger than the common spot adopted by Xiaomi smartphones, the 6.67 inches. Users will be able to enjoy multimedia content in this device, and it will last long thanks to the 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W charging. It’s not the fastest charging standard, but it could be worse. At that rate, you will take about 2 hours to fully charge the phone that comes with a USB Type-C port.

Gizchina News of the week

Under the hood, the phone draws its powers from the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. That’s the same chipset inside of the Samsung Galaxy A05 that launched in India today. With the same chipset, the Redmi 13C will be a direct competitor for Samsung in this field. Both devices have similar specs, but the Redmi 13C will take the edge with the 90 Hz refresh rate. In terms of technical specifications, the Helio G85 is a 12 nm-based chipset which means it’s not the most efficient chipset nowadays. However, the 5,000 mAh battery will keep balance. The processor has 2 x ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2 GHz plus 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G52 MC2 at 1000 MHz which can handle most of the games with moderate graphic settings.

Redmi 13C

The device has a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP macro, and a third camera for depth sensing. The front-facing shooter is an 8 MP camera, which is decent for basic selfies and video calls. This configuration is enough for social media usage, but don’t expect the most impressive pictures with this handset. Overall, you will get the usual performance for mid-range phones. Decent photos with good light conditions, and less quality in nightly landscapes.

The Redmi 13C currently sells for $115 across global markets. That translates to about INR 9,600 in India. Therefore, the device could cost between INR 9,000 and INR 9,999 in the Indian market. The Redmi 13C is available in Midnight Black, Navy Blue, Glacier White, and Clover Green color options.
